As the world evolves, people observe the difference that has been showing throughout the years of evolution. As people, often scientists, observe they also take note and write about these differences, eventually doing their best to inform the people about the change that occur around the globe. Although some reports are positive observations, many of the reports are also negative. These reports all around the internet allow for people to use it as a platform to inform other across the globe if the ongoing problems that occuring. Not only is the world evolving socially and politically, but evolving scientifically as well, with many scientific problems everywhere. One of the main scientific problems that is occuring would be the primary conflict of climate change.

Many scientific reports have been written about this topic, but this study’s purpose was to inform the audience about the current problems of climate change and the effects that these can cause to the the earth if nothing is done in time. The study was created to communicate with policymakers in order to create policies that won’t allow for the planet to be further damaged. This report can usually have the audience of people with knowledge of climate change, due to the vocabulary used and the choice of diction behind the paper as well. This paper can also be aimed towards people that reside in the United states of America due to the fact that some statistics are from the current events occuring within the country. A lot of the statistics are referenced from the data that was collected within the U.S, therefore it can’t be applied to or be useful to other countries. People or scientists in the U.S have data within the same area as them. Other from different regions on the earth won’t have the same result of climate change.

    The report being introduced was used as a way of communication between people who wish to help with climate change and policy makers that are in charge, but do not want to take into consideration of the damage that allowed to be done to our planet. The report starts off with a summary of the current status of how the planet is doing. The author includes statistics, including a fact that he period we are currently in is the warmest in all modern civilization. It explains that the report will include evidence that human civilization will continue to damage the planet if no action is taken into consideration if any action is done in the next few years. The summary uses vocabulary so that the audience with even no background knowledge of climate change can understand because if has explanations of what everything is, what the evidence means and how it can harm the people now.

The chapter in the report begin to break down the different factors that climate change not only is caused by, but how it can affect those factors as well. Within each chapter it also gives warnings and how climate change has affected everyone around the world. Chapter 1 of the report is dedicated to  the beginning of what climate change could do to the world in a few years. In the chapter it states, “Since the Third U.S. National Climate Assessment (NCA3) was published in May 2014, new observations along multiple lines of evidence have strengthened the conclusion that Earth’s climate is changing at a pace and in a pattern not explainable by natural influences” (1.1 Introduction). As mentioned before, the purpose of the report is to openly and actively speak to the audience all around the world to allow for change, or a small step, to prevent climate change receiving the opportunity of getting worse.

Chapter 2 through 4, begins with the beginning of noticed climate change, including graphs and charts for visual aid so people can note how climate change has begun. Throughout the chapters, the authors begin to list numerous scenarios and projections what could possibly happen if nothing is done about the problem with climate change. This includes graphs of the temperatures as years go by. (See graph below)

However, the author explains that although these graphs allow for people to see properly of the predicted findings of the effects of climate change, “uncertainty in future projections is relatively high, incorporating both the uncertainty due to multiple scenarios as well as uncertainty regarding the response of the climate system to human emissions.” This means that the author believes that cause of global warming is not completely certain until they find all factors of what can cause it. “They also allow scientists to highlight the effect of global mean temperature on projected regional change by de-emphasizing the uncertainty due to both climate sensitivity and future scenarios. , This approach is less useful for those impacts that vary based on rate of change, such as species migrations, or where equilibrium changes are very different from transient effects, such as sea level rise” (Chapter 4). This chapter not only supports the data provided for what the future temperatures may be like, but it also disagrees. This is important to know because the report stands with pure unbiased texts that could help change the opinion. The author accepts the fact that future graphs given by scientists aren’t the most reliable, but can be used as a window of what could occur to the planet if nothing is done.

The other chapters include the things that have already been affected by climate change, These include the temperature changes, the precipitation changes, weather changes, changes in land cover, arctic changes, sea level changes, etc. Each chapter is dedicated to the findings that have direct effect to these things, and how exactly it can further be altered due to global warming within the area that this data was founded in.

The language used in the report is understood and formatted so people with no proper knowledge would be able to understand. The vocabulary isn’t difficult but it’s proper. It’s genre is non fiction since it is a real story event. The report is very important to people around the globe who wish to do something with climate change. The stance is to help make policies that will help the world improve with the problem.

The author writes in a very formal way. The tone is very stern and forward so that the audience of the author is directly targeted and told what their problem is. The problem is climate change, and all of the problems that come with it were listed in a very organized manner, a form of diction that can get the audience’s attention. It’s interesting to see their form of writing because I am able to see how direct they are. They have a lot of evidence from different sources so they can persuade and allow the audience to get a better view of the perspective of the author. The vocabulary is also very professional and complicated enough for them to be taken seriously, but not enough so that other people could read with understanding of what the author is trying to convey.

In conclusion, the perspective of the writer will always impact the writing and the report. The report targets a specific group of people based on their vocabulary and what they try to tell them. A writing language is needed for everything. Diction changes depending on the subject and how the author wants to be taken.
